Onboarding and the first 90 days

A clear, practical onboarding helps you contribute safely and confidently. The firm provides role-specific orientation, systems training, and a local mentor for each new associate. The checklist below is a practical guide — your team lead will confirm which items apply to your role.

Week 1 — Setup

Practical notes

  1. Keep time and expense entries current to support accurate client billing and reporting.

Practice tools — TRW.AC

TRW.AC is the firm's internal case-management and collaboration platform used to record notes, manage deadlines, and share documents within authorised teams. Training is available during onboarding to help you use the calendar, notes, timeline and costing features effectively.

Notes

Store meeting summaries and research in the case workspace with version tracking and secure attachments.

Calendar & deadlines

Use the calendar to schedule hearings, set reminders and coordinate with teams. Synchronise where permitted.

Costing

Record time and case expenses promptly; follow the firm's billing guidance for rate codes and descriptions.

Secondments and professional development

TRW supports development through internal training, secondments and supervised project work. Secondment opportunities have included placements in the UK and Dubai; eligibility and timing are determined by practice requirements and business needs.
